End of a journey

Yesterday, Lauren went to the BC Cancer Agency for another PET scan. The scan she had two months ago was inconclusive, which required a follow-up.

Today, we met with the oncology team at Children’s Hospital to discuss the results, and we are overjoyed to share that Lauren received a clean bill of health—she is cancer-free!

We thank our God and Father for healing Lauren and for carrying us all along the way. Lauren chose this Bible verse for her blog:

“Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and will not be afraid; for the Lord God is my strength and my song, and he has become my salvation.”
—Isaiah 12:2

Lauren truly lived out this verse when she received her cancer diagnosis and during her chemotherapy treatments. We admire her courage and how she continued to live her normal life, even during the toughest days.

As a family, we would like to thank you all so much for everything you’ve done for us. The warmth and care you’ve surrounded us with, along with your prayers and support, have meant the world to us. ❤️

Children’s Hospital honors a tradition where Lauren received a medal and certificate for courageously completing her chemo treatment. Her siblings were also recognized with a medal for their support along the way.

There will be follow-up visits, and her portacath still needs to be removed, but our feet are back on solid ground, and the future is bright.
